A quick little story that's being passed around online: Konami recently registered trademarks in Japan for both Castlevania and Metal Gear Rising. At first glance we would assume that this is just the publisher renewing its properties. After all, the two trademarks have little to do with one another — but it's got people talking regardless.
The Metal Gear Rising trademark is of particular interest given the sudden appearance of those Metal Gear-related tweets, but thinking they're connected is probably a bit of a stretch.
Speaking of Metal Gear Rising, we wrote a soapbox back in February about how Konami should totally remaster it. If this really does happen, then you all owe us one.

Metal gear rising was a amazing ps3 game oh yeah make it happen.that 🎸 rock and roll soundrack while fighting a boss was epic.and the gameplay and story was top notch.word up son

I have almost no faith in Konami doing anything good with the Metal Gear franchise without Kojima. It’s cool Rising was enjoyable without his involvement but I think Survive is a sign of things to come.
Also mind blown 🤯 that Rising came out in 2013! I thought for sure it released before I was in college.
Rising really needs a remaster. I don't care if it "spits in the face of what made Metal Gear Metal Gear" or whatever some people say about it. It's just a fun as hell game
theres not a single hack n' slash game that tops this game. like , at all. and its a shame good games like these never see the light of day again but the mediocre games get a sequel or remasters.
metal gear rising is a sleeping GOAT ! remaster and actually advertise this game , and watch it do its true numbers.

If it's not something new, hopefully we get the GBA/DS Castlevania games in a collection.
I'd also love current gen versions of the 3 Lord's of Shadow games. The 1st was excellent, the 3DS game was good, and I never really played LoS2 due to the timing of its release near the launch of the PS4/XB1. Or at least it was on my to play list until them, and it's been backlogged ever since. Yes, I've heard it wasn't great, but I'd still like to go back to it.
a remaster of rising on ps5 would be nice. i feel like something big is on the way
@Kang81 An Anniversary Collection 2 with either the Igavanias or the 3D games like CV64, Legacy of Darkness, Lament of Innocence, Curse of Darkness and the Lords of Shadow duology seems like the likliest outcome to me

Rising on PC honestly looks just as good as PS4 games. A remaster in that sense isn’t really needed.

No remasters..complete remakes like the recent demon souls..get blue point on the job and i'll happily buy them both day one..yes at full price..

@Porco it's not a good PC port though. I mean it was fine for it's time, but not anymore.
Would love a new MGR but do trust Konami developing one. Platinum seems real busy and I know they prefer to work on their own IP more now.

I so hope they remake Lords of Shadow. That was a great great game and can't imagine how amazing it'd look on current gen. And hopefully get the same cast, or at least Robert Carlyle and Patrick Stewart...
They're just gonna port the games to mobile or smart fridges, don't get your hopes up for PS4/PS5 remasters or sequels...

Hmmm..I dunno dude. DMC3 is still at the top for me. Lets not forget Ninja gaiden 2 also. Onimusha 2&3 back in the day. Rising is still one of my top hack and slashers though. Shame it kept breaking on steam
